Welcome to List-of-Chords.com! This site was created as a free resource to teach piano chords in a very web 2.0 kind of way. Specifically, I'm using flash, php, jQuery and more fun stuff on the way. I plan to keep adding more interesting modules and tools as I find the time. If you are interested in helping with this site in any capacity, send me an e-mail at oknate@gmail.com.

To see this and other animations on this site, you need Flash Player 10.

You may also notice that one of my main purposes in creating this website is to promote the e-books I've written on the subject of piano chords. I've written a total of 8 (as of the year 2008) e-books, and I've helped thousands of people across the globe learn piano chord theory though my books. If you would like more info on my piano books, please visit http://www.patternpiano.com/.

Let me tell you a little about myself: I'm a professional musician, voice and piano teacher in New York City. I'm a graduate of Yale University where I studied music theory (among other things). I'm also a computer programmer. Anyway, I'm looking to make this site better and would appreciate any feedback you can give me.

By the way, although not as well maintained at this point, I have a longer list of chords, which includes variations and extensions of the chords above.
See the advanced piano chords list.

A New Sight Reading Tutorial!

Posted Jan 2., 2009

One of the last groups of piano notes that a person learns when learning to sight read are the lines above and below the staff. I still forget some of these sometimes. To help myself, and and help you, learn these notes, I created this flash game/tutorial.

Study the lines above and below the staff.
